Week 24

Happy Full Week! Watching our students skate with Harris Hillman was wonderful! A few reminders about next week. March 6th is our Music Program! Students are to arrive at 6:15. We are so excited to see you there. Students should dress in their best country attire. Thursday March 7th is a full school day and formal dress.

We kicked off the week by diligently preparing for our upcoming Math test, dedicating Monday and Tuesday to comprehensive review sessions. The culmination of our efforts was on Wednesday when students tackled the test with determination. Thursday brought a valuable opportunity for reflection as students received their ungraded tests, allowing them to revisit their work before final grades are assigned. Next math unit will be adding and subtracting fractions. On Thursday March 7th 4R will be heading into a multiplication/division fluency competition with Mrs. Cowden’s second grade class. We will see who becomes champion.

A surprise pop quiz on science vocabulary was administered on Thursday. We enthusiastically launched into a captivating lab centered around chain reactions. This independent endeavor has showcased the students' remarkable commitment and proficiency in executing the experiment. You will be receiving their grades, along with a signature sheet, on Monday. Corrections are due by Wednesday.

Happy almost Spring Break! We have a vocabulary quiz on Monday, 3/5. It's a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their growing language skills. Graded work has been diligently placed in your child's yellow folder for your review. Please take a moment to go through it with your child, discuss their progress, and make any necessary corrections. All graded work, corrections, and the signed parent sheet are kindly requested to be returned by Tuesday, 3/6.

Additionally, we are excited to announce another engaging book club meeting on Thursday, 3/7. Students should come prepared with their completed Independent Study Guide (ISG) for book the third. The ISG, along with a reading log for next week, was sent home with your child today. In the event that your child will be absent on the day of the book club, please ensure that their ISG is turned in the day before, on 3/6. For students who miss book club, a separate assignment will be due back on 3/18.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another enriching week of learning and exploration.

-Katie
